How to play Word Pictures

  1. Say what you see out loud, picture by picture.
  2. Notice position and style too: a word over another, a word in a box, a word upside down or in a colour.
  3. Pick the option that matches what you said.

How it gets harder

There are three tiers. Tier one adds pictures and words together. Tier two uses layout tricks such as one word over another. Tier three is the double-take kind. Higher levels draw from the harder tiers, and the practice mode avoids repeating puzzles you have already seen.

Tips

  • Read positions as words: over, under, in, on, between.
  • Count things. Four of something often means "for".

Playing Word Pictures as a family

Word Pictures is the one game in Brainpilates that uses words. They are short, everyday words a confident eight-year-old can read, and the jokes land for adults too.

Word Pictures is also one of the thirteen games in the Brainpilates daily mix. On days it comes up, everyone plays the same board, and you can send your result to someone as a challenge to beat.
