How to play Tic-Tac-Toe
- You play X. Sometimes the computer goes first.
- Tap an empty square to place your mark.
- Three in a row in any line wins. A full board with no line is a draw, which also counts as a solve.
How it gets harder
On the first levels the computer makes mistakes you can punish. From the third level it switches to a perfect strategy, and the only way to avoid losing is to block every threat.
Tips
- If you go first, take a corner. It sets the most traps.
- Always check whether the computer has two in a row before you go for your own line.
Playing Tic-Tac-Toe as a family
Most children learn tic-tac-toe early, and many have never played an opponent that cannot be beaten. Holding it to a draw is a nice thing to work out together.
Tic-Tac-Toe is also one of the thirteen games in the Brainpilates daily mix. On days it comes up, everyone plays the same board, and you can send your result to someone as a challenge to beat.
