How to play Fold It

  1. Count the faces in the net and note their shapes.
  2. Picture folding the flaps up around the base.
  3. Tap the solid that matches.

How it gets harder

The pool covers six solids: cube, square pyramid, tetrahedron, prism, cylinder and cone. Cube nets come in many layouts, and nets can be turned or mirrored, so the same solid can look new each time.

Tips

  • Circles mean a cylinder or a cone. A curved fan shape means a cone.
  • Triangles around a square make a square pyramid. Four triangles alone make a tetrahedron.

Playing Fold It as a family

Fold It links straight to school geometry. Print or draw a net on paper afterwards and fold it to check.

Fold It is also one of the thirteen games in the Brainpilates daily mix. On days it comes up, everyone plays the same board, and you can send your result to someone as a challenge to beat.
