How to play Recall
- Watch the grid when the round starts.
- When the lights go out, tap the squares you remember.
- Get every lit square to solve the round.
How it gets harder
The first level lights six squares. Higher levels light up to eight and show them for less time, down to under a second.
Tips
- Remember shapes, not single squares. Three lit squares in an L are easier to hold than three loose ones.
- Say a quick word for each cluster: corner, line, middle.
Playing Recall as a family
Short enough to take turns: one person plays, the other watches the same grid and checks. Children often beat adults at this one.
Recall is also one of the thirteen games in the Brainpilates daily mix. On days it comes up, everyone plays the same board, and you can send your result to someone as a challenge to beat.
Questions about Recall
- How long does the pattern show?
- About 1.7 seconds on the first level, getting shorter as you climb.
- Does playing memory games improve memory?
- We make no such claim. The evidence that memory games improve everyday memory is weak. Recall is a game, and it is fun to beat your own record.
